Portland's food scene is famously good, which is exactly why a Saturday-night reservation for 14 people at any of the obvious places is essentially impossible. We send the chef and the grill to you. Pearl District rooftop, Eastside Victorian backyard, Lake Oswego dock, Hood River cabin, or a Willamette Valley winery cottage, we set up at the host and run a 90-minute live show.

Our chefs travel across the full Portland region. Inside the city we regularly serve Downtown, the Pearl District, Northwest (Nob Hill, Slabtown), Northeast (Alberta, Mississippi, Irvington, Alameda, Laurelhurst), and Southeast (Hawthorne, Belmont, Division, Sellwood, Mt. Pearl District and Eastside loft rooftops work for residents whose buildings allow open-flame cooking. Lake Oswego waterfront homes are favorites for sunset events; we set up dockside. Mt. Hood cabin rentals in Government Camp, Welches, and Brightwood are common for winter ski weekends and summer hiking weekends. Portland Seasonality and Outdoor Setup

Portland's marine west coast climate gives us a defined summer outdoor window and a wet shoulder/winter season. Late June through September is the reliable dry, warm outdoor window and our peak demand; long sunset hours and mild temperatures make this a perfect hibachi stretch. May, June, and October are usable with covered patios; the rain risk goes up but events still run. November through April is wet; we set up under covered patios, in vented garages with the door open, or indoors with proper ventilation. Mt. Hood ski-cabin season runs late November through April, indoor or covered-outdoor setups. We flex bookings around any severe-weather or wildfire-smoke advisories.

Portland Hibachi FAQ

Do you serve the Willamette Valley wine country and Mt. Hood? Yes. Newberg, Dundee, Carlton, McMinnville (Willamette Valley), Hood River, the Columbia River Gorge, and Government Camp/Welches/Brightwood (Mt. Hood) are all part of our extended Portland service area for groups large enough to meet our event minimum.

Can you set up in the rain? Yes, under a covered patio, in a vented garage with the door open, or indoors with proper ventilation. PDX rain is part of the equation here; we recommend planning a covered backup space when booking outside the dry summer window.

What's the minimum booking? A $600 event minimum applies (roughly 10 guests at the standard $60 per adult rate). Smaller parties are welcome; you cover the difference up to the minimum.

What's Included With Every Portland Booking

Every Portland booking includes a private hibachi chef, the mobile teppanyaki grill, all ingredients, service plates and chopsticks, the 90-minute live show, and full setup and breakdown. Each guest picks two proteins from chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon, scallops, or tofu, with the option to upgrade to filet mignon (+$5) or lobster tail (+$10) (Pacific salmon and Dungeness-style additions are popular requests we'll discuss at booking). Every plate comes with fried rice, hibachi vegetables, a garden salad, and our signature ginger and yum-yum sauces. We accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, keto, halal, and kosher requests with advance notice.
