Hibachi Guru in Key West brings the full teppanyaki experience to your rental, conch house, or boat anywhere in the Lower Keys. Key West's restaurants are part of the experience, but Duval Street is loud, the waits are long, and herding 14 people from a Casa Marina rental to a 9pm dinner reservation is its own bachelorette weekend in miniature. We send a chef to your rental instead. Sunset shows up; the grill follows; and you stay in the pool.

North along the Overseas Highway we cover Big Coppitt Key, Boca Chica, Sugarloaf Key, Cudjoe Key, Summerland Key, Big Pine Key, and No Name Key. Key West homes and rentals are built for outdoor entertaining and our service fits naturally. Old Town conch houses with private courtyards and pool decks are our most iconic setup; we set up in the courtyard with the grill at a safe distance from any historic wood structure. Casa Marina, Truman Annex, and Sunset Key estates are our highest-end venues, often booked for wedding weekends or multi-family vacations. Stock Island and Key Haven waterfront rentals are favorites for dockside sunset events. Boat-charter and yacht events are possible at slip-side or on private vessels with adequate deck space; we set up before departure. Resort suites at the Casa Marina, the Reach, Pier House, and Marker hotels sometimes allow outside chefs on private terraces; check the hotel's policy first. Direct-on-beach cooking requires permits and is not our standard.

Key West's tropical climate makes outdoor hibachi essentially year-round. November through April is the peak comfort and tourist window; the busiest stretch and our highest demand. May through October is hotter and more humid, with regular afternoon thunderstorms; evening start times (7pm or later) and a covered courtyard or pool deck make summer events comfortable. Hurricane season runs June through November and is the only meaningful disruption risk in Key West; we flex bookings around named-storm advisories. Fantasy Fest (late October) is the single highest-demand week of the year; book 6-8 weeks ahead.

Can you set up at an Old Town conch house or Casa Marina rental? Yes, with the property owner's written approval. Old Town courtyards and Casa Marina pool decks are some of our favorite setups in Key West; confirm with the host that outdoor private chef service is permitted at the property.

Do you cater boat charters or yacht events? Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Setup typically happens dockside before departure or on private vessels with adequate deck space and ventilation; ask at booking for specifics.

What's the minimum booking? A $600 event minimum applies (roughly 10 guests at the standard $60 per adult rate). Smaller parties are welcome; you cover the difference up to the minimum.

What's Included With Every Key West Booking

Every Key West booking includes a private hibachi chef, the mobile teppanyaki grill, all ingredients, service plates and chopsticks, the 90-minute live show, and full setup and breakdown. Each guest picks two proteins from chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon, scallops, or tofu, with the option to upgrade to filet mignon (+$5) or lobster tail (+$10) (lobster is a Florida Keys staple and a frequent upgrade here). Every plate comes with fried rice, hibachi vegetables, a garden salad, and our signature ginger and yum-yum sauces. We accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, keto, halal, and kosher requests with advance notice.
